Journal for Research in Mathematics Education (JRME)

  • The goal of the Journal for Research in Mathematics Education (JRME) is to publish high quality research in mathematics education by maintaining rigorous standards of scholarship in making its publication decisions.

    Committee Charge

    Journal for Research in Mathematics Education (JRME) is charged to:

    1, Establish policies and procedures for the Journal for Research in Mathematics Education so that it continues to be a highly respected source of research and research-related information addressing significant and currently relevant problems in mathematics education. These policies and procedures shall: 

    • define the general format of the journal and its components;           
    • ensure timely review and publication of manuscripts;
    • be recorded and updated as necessary in an appropriate location, such as in the Manual of the Editorial Board or at the JRME website.

    2. Advise and assist the Editor in the review and selection of manuscripts for publication. This shall include: 

    • assisting in the establishment and periodic revision of standards for accepting manuscripts for publication;
    • helping to define, refine, and monitor the processes for the receipt, refereeing, acceptance, and publication of manuscripts;
    • careful reviewing of research manuscripts as requested by the Editor.

    3. Monitor information found at the JRME web site and supply appropriate information for inclusion there.

    4. Advise and report to the Board of Directors on matters related to the journal. This shall include:

    • preparation of brief written reports to the Board reflecting recent meetings or other activity;
    • preparation and submission of an Annual Report to the Board including a budget.
