Practical Innovations in Mathematics Education
Mathematics education is constantly evolving as more and more individuals develop innovative approaches to reach students. However, these ideas only become truly revolutionary when shared with others, transforming the entire math education community for the better. By attending the 2016 NCTM Annual Conference, I will be able to participate in this powerful collaboration among educators, which is critical for developing into a teacher of excellence. In addition to gaining practical insight from experienced educators, I look forward to sharing my own contributions and receiving feedback from teachers all over the country, especially regarding my research on incorporating 3D printing into mathematics curricula. Some areas of particular interest to me are technology use and achieving equity in the classroom, and I am eager to discuss issues like these and other significant topics with a variety of educators so that I become more fully equipped to engage my students in mathematical learning.
