    Making Math Magical

Hands on activities and explorations, coupled with lessons led with math literature brings the classroom and its targeted learning goals to life!  At Metcalf School we utilize data to drive our instruction targeted to meet individual student needs.  We have worked diligently to plan units in mathematics around specific areas of need based on our testing results at our grade level. We want to develop hands on geometry centers, have spaces for building with polygon sets, incorporate our nation's STEM goals with math literature, and allow for each classroom to have enough materials for all of our students to solidify their ability to reason with shapes and their attributes.(3G1)  We are hoping through the exposure to these materials along with our daily classroom geometry push, our students will come to love, understand, and appreciate geometry in their daily world! This grant will continue to make math magical at Metcalf School!
