Philadelphia Bound: Declaring Student Independence from Rote Learning
Teaching in a school where three out of four students cannot reasonably expect their parents to assist them with homework, it is essential for teachers to have as many different skills as possible to correlate practices and content. My attendance at this conference will not only provide me with these skills, but would also benefit others as a result of the in-services I will provide based on information received. Providing students with the skills to not just do well on a test, but to apply those skills, for life, in real world situations is my ultimate goal.
