    Agent of Change

My goal as a teacher has always been to increase student agency in math by making my lessons engaging and focusing on a constructivist or problem solving model so that students gain confidence in their mathematical abilities. My goal for completing this program is to be a change agent in the classroom and math teacher community by focusing on sustainable education pedagogy. I see a huge gap in research, policy, and practice in the field of education and I see a need to build more bridges between these entities. For my Dissertation in Practice, I am planning to examine the ways that teacher-led professional development can be improved in schools to create sustainable education practices backed with solid research.
