Lakewood High School Math Department Training
After a district wide book study of “Principles to Action: Ensuring Mathematical Success for All (NCTM 2014)” the teachers at Lakewood High School realized that we have some things that we need training on to help us improve student learning. We are committed to improving student comprehension and increasing opportunities for students to continue into higher math classes either at our school or in their future. To achieve this we have set aside some specific goals that we are working on. First we would like to improve instruction through adding more tasks and formative assessment. Secondly, we would like to modify our grading policies to offer more clarity to all involved parties.
