Spreading Math Knowledge in a Leadership Role
As a Math Interventionist at the elementary level, my work directly impacts the education of hundreds of students, through working with students directly to assisting general education teachers strengthen their core instruction. Consistently working to improve my teaching is a priority of mine, and I am currently pursuing a Math Content Specialist certificate from Rhode Island College. Professional development is imperative in order to maximize effectiveness in the classroom, and these courses will allow me to continue to learn best practices and effective instructional methods. I am requesting a Teacher Professional Grant in the amount of $3200 that will allow me to achieve this latest goal, and I will use this knowledge to work towards improving Math instruction in my district as a teacher leader.
