The following Delegate Assembly resolutions were acted on by the NCTM Board of Directors during its meeting in July:
* Resolution O.R.05.01
Be it resolved that the Delegate Assembly recommend to the NCTM Board of Directors that registration at NCTM regional and annual conferences for full-time students who are not members of NCTM be set at $25 for the full meeting and $10 for a single day and that NCTM student members receive free registration at NCTM regional and annual conferences.
Action: The Board applauds the spirit and intent of the resolution. After lengthy discussions and careful deliberation, the Board rejected this motion.
* Resolution O.R.05.04
Be it resolved that the Delegate Assembly recommend to the NCTM Board of Directors that NCTM institute the policy of accepting at most one resolution adopted by each caucus and presented at the Delegate Assembly. A resolution brought in this manner must be accompanied by a rationale and supporting evidence.
Action: The Board accepted this motion and has directed the Affiliate Services Committee to modify Delegate Assembly practice to permit the acceptance of at most one resolution adopted by each caucus and to present these resolutions, with a rationale and supporting evidence, to the Delegate Assembly.
