Less Than One Year…

We just wanted to send a quick note to remind you that the 2017 NCTM Orlando Regional is now less that one year away!

Now we realize that this probably doesn’t mean a whole lot to the average conference attendee. However, your program committee is working exceptionally hard right now to locate loads of presentations that will meet your needs.

For now, we have two requests:

1. Please consider submitting (or encouraging someone to submit) a proposal here. As a reminder, we released the rubric we’ll use to determine what sessions will be chosen. So please use it as you develop your proposal. Yes, we hope this means our job in selecting sessions will be insanely difficult. But we are attempting to model what we do in the classroom. That is, we provide students with a rubric before the assignment/assessment. 

2. If there are presenters or topics that you want to see in Orlando, please reach out in the comments below or via twitter (use @NCTM, @zakchamp, and/or #NCTMregionals). If you do, we promise that we’ll work to make it happen. As we wrote in our first post, “it's our hope the Regional Conference in Orlando will reflect and represent the diversity of our profession. As we look to build a conference that is inclusive, we welcome, value, and need your input.”

And we mean it. We need you. 

Thanks to all of you who submitted feedback in regards to a previous post about what you are looking for in an opening session. We've taken your suggestions and we've began working them into your conference experience. The more we know you want, the more can make happen.

We’ll join you there.
