Frequently Asked Questions

  1. After I click the “enter lobby” button, nothing happens.  What do I do?

Check to see if your browser uses a “pop-up blocker.”  If so, you may need to disable it in order to allow the console window to open.  If you have continued trouble making the live meeting console window appear or if you receive an error message related to your ActiveX settings call the LiveMeeting tech support line at 1-866-493-2825 for assistance.
  2. I was able to get into the meeting but then got kicked off.  What do I do?

Try to enter through the meeting lobby link again.  If you still experience difficulties, contact the LiveMeeting tech support line right away at 1-866-493-2825.
  3. How can I test my computer ahead of time to make sure it will work the night of the e-workshop?

Once you have downloaded the LiveMeeting software, you may test your system during any one of the designated system check times listed on the schedule you received prior to the workshop.  A live operator will be standing by if you have trouble.
  4. Can I opt to use the voice/audio from my computer during the presentation instead of dialing in on the phone?

We do not currently use computer audio.  You must dial in on the phone to hear the presenter and to contribute verbally to the meeting.
  5. How can help to ensure that I will be able to log in successfully?

After you have downloaded the LiveMeeting software, and tested your system before the day of the workshop, be sure to attempt logging into the meeting a half hour before the meeting begins so that you have ample time to receive assistance if necessary.
  6. When I log in, I am asked for an entry code. How do I obtain this?
Please use the meeting lobby link provided to you.  You do not need an entry code to enter the meeting.  After you type your name in the box, click on “Enter Lobby”.  Do NOT click “I have an entry code”.
  7. I’ve done everything on the checklist and still cannot log into LiveMeeting.  What should I do?

Email e-learning@nctm.org to let us know you are having technical difficulties and then contact LiveMeeting tech support at 1-866-493-2825
  8. Will there be an opportunity for me to interact with the presenter?

Yes.  You may interact with the presenter and with other participants by pressing *6 on your phone to unmute your phone and begin speaking.  Everyone dialed in can hear you.   You may also type questions and comments into the Q&A box.
  9. I have a MAC computer. Can I still participate in the e-workshop?

Yes. You will need to install the Web Client.   Please follow the guidelines on the checklist you received upon registration.  Also be sure to test your computer beforehand during one of the scheduled system check times.
  10. I did not receive the checklist or any other attachments prior to the workshop.

First, check your SPAM box. Many schools have filters or firewalls set up that may prevent attachments from coming through. If you have not received anything, contact e-learning@nctm.org
