Mathematical Lens: Side of a Building, Montreal, Quebec

Ron Lancaster

January 2005, Volume 98, Issue 5, Page 325

Abstract:
This issue: Photograph is of a building in Quebec with triangular windows, with target questions about mathematical topics that include right equilateral triangles and symmetry. Mathematical Lens uses photographs as a springboard for mathematical inquiry. The goal of this department is to encourage readers to see patterns and relationships that they can think about and extend in a mathematically playful way. Mathematical Lens is a regular department of Mathematics Teacher.
