Ticket Sales

Abstract:

The "Ticket Sales" problem is introduced and solutions are provided. Students solve a problem involving ticket sales for an event and figure out how many people bought advance tickets and how many bought at the door.

Food for Thought from Jay's Diner poses a problem for classroom use and gives a solution to a previously published problem. Food for Thought from Jay's Diner is a regular department of Mathematics Teaching in the Middle School. Student solutions are highlighted in The Thinking of Students department of Mathematics Teaching in the Middle School.
