Abstract:

Early mathematical exploration of number sense and operations is the focus of this month’s From the ClassroomFrom the Classroom is a regular department of Teaching Children Mathematics dedicated to sharing knowledge that is generated and used in classroom settings. It serves as a forum for reflective, classroom-centered articles that focus upon issues that arise in teaching mathematics and actions that teachers take in relation to those issues.
