Tracking Time: Representing Elapsed Time on an Open Timeline

Abstract:
The open-number-line technique for adding and subtracting whole numbers to solve elapsed-time problems. Several student examples are included. Shows several correct solutions to each problem for students who struggle finding elapsed time or converting units when solving time problems.
