Packing the Packages
Students explore the importance of the
size and shape of packaging products. Students work with surface area,
volume, optimization, spatial visualization, and manufacturing cost to
determine the characteristics of the "best" box for a product. They
determine the box shape that results in the maximum volume using the
least amount of material.
