Area Problems? PICK a Way to Solve Them

November 2005

Abstract:

The Student Math Notes March 1995 issue, "S T R E T C H ...Your Imagination", and the November 1999 issue, "Squares on the Geoboard", involved the use of geoboards to explore basic mathematical concepts relating to triangles, squares, and other geometric shapes. The use of these tools to investigate the concept of area of simple lattice polygons is interesting and informative. In mathematics, we call these ļ¬gures polygons. A polygon is a closed figure made of segments connecting at endpoints.
