When numbers appear in arrays (a rectangular arrangement of objects in rows and columns), is it possible to identify a pattern that enables us to
continue the array indefinitely? One of the most interesting number patterns is Pascal’s triangle, named for Blaise Pascal, a famous French mathematician and philosopher. In the following activities, we will explore how Pascal’s triangle is formed and discover many of its patterns.
