Q: 

How can I add an additional journal to my existing membership? When will I have online access and start receiving print copies?
A: 

Adding an additional journal to your existing membership can only be done by calling Customer Service at (800) 235-7566. Online access to your additional journal will be activated two to three days after credit card approval.

Your additional journal will be prorated to correspond with your current membership cycle. If you have chosen to add a hardcopy journal, regular mailings of future issues will begin within four to six weeks for school journals added during the months of July–March; eight to 12 weeks for the Journal for Research in Mathematics Education, or journals added between April and June. The NCTM/AMTE co-published journal, Mathematics Teacher Educator (MTE), will have September and March issues, and is available as an add-on online-only journal.

How can I get a copy of a back issue of an NCTM journal?
A: 

Individual members have online access to back issues of Teaching Children Mathematics (1999–present), Mathematics Teaching in the Middle School (1999–present), Mathematics Teacher (1999–present), ON-Math (2002–present), and the Journal for Research in Mathematics Education (1997–present).

Print copies of back issues of NCTM school journals (from the past 18 months) are available for $12 each (nonmember) or $9.60 each (member). Back issues of the Journal for Research in Mathematics Education from the past 18 months are available for $33 each (nonmember) or $26.40 each (member). A shipping charge will be added to your order. How can I get a copy of a back issue of an NCTM yearbook?
A: 

Back issues of NCTM yearbooks are available for purchase online.

Full volumes of journals and hard copies of yearbooks since 1977 are available on microfilm or microfiche from ProQuest Information and Learning, 300 North Zeeb Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48106, (734) 761-4700.

NCTM yearbooks through 1954 are available on microfiche from ERIC Document Reproduction Service. Abstracts and ordering information are available in ERIC's Resources in Education. Call (800) 443-3742 for details

 
Q: 

How can I get a copy of an article in an NCTM journal to which I do not subscribe?
A: 

Individual users may purchase downloadable articles from journals to which they do not subscribe by clicking on the Purchase button on the Article Summary page for that article.

Articles are posted as PDF files and may be downloaded with Adobe Acrobat 3.0 or higher. You will have access to any articles you purchase for one year. You may save and print out each article for future use.

How can I get a copy of an article that is not online?
A: 

Photocopies of individual articles are available for $9 per article title from school journals, or $12 per article title from the Journal for Research in Mathematics Education. A shipping charge will be added to your order.

How do I change my email (username) and password in My NCTM?

To update your email (username) and password please sign in at My NCTM using your old email address and/or password. Then click on "Change Email and Password"; update and confirm your information; then save.

How do I get copyright permission (including electronic copyright permission)?

Credit card orders by mail take approximately one week from receipt to activation of online access. I renewed and changed my choice of journal. When will I have online access and receive print copies?
A: 

If you renewed online or by phone with a credit card, you will have online access to your new journal(s) and archives through My NCTM within two to three business days. Credit card orders by mail take approximately one week from receipt to activation of online access. Check or purchase orders take approximately three weeks from receipt to activation of online access.

You will receive hard copies of your new journal beginning with the first issue of your new membership cycle. Until then, you will continue receiving copies of the journal chosen at the time of your previous membership payment.

 
Q: 

My teaching assignment has changed, and I need to change my journal selection. How do I make this request, and how soon will I receive access?
A: 

Contact the Customer Service department by phone at (800) 235-7566, or email membermail@nctm.org to request the change of journal. You will have online access to your new journal(s) and archives through My NCTM within two to three business days. If a hardcopy journal change is involved, you will likely receive the upcoming month as your old journal, and begin the new journal with the second month following the change request.

 
Q: 

When will I receive my print journal, if I subscribed to one?
A: 

Please allow six to eight weeks after receipt of order to receive your first print journal (longer if you join between April and June). Teaching Children Mathematics, Mathematics Teaching in the Middle School, and Mathematics Teacher are published nine times a year, August through May (combined December/January issue).

The Journal for Research in Mathematics Education is published five times a year—January, March, May, July, and November. 

Note that membership and subscriptions run for a year from their start date; they do not include provision of back issues to match a calendar year or academic year schedule.

 
Q: 

Where can I find the annual theme for your journals and other publications?
A: 

There is no annual theme for volumes of NCTM journals or for published material. Each school journal has a themed focus issue each year. See NCTM's Call for Manuscripts for details on upcoming focus issues.  For past focus issues, see the October issues of Teaching Children Mathematics, the April issues of Mathematics Teaching in the Middle School, and the November issues of Mathematics Teacher.
