The Committee is composed of four appointed members from the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) including an NCTM Board Liaison, and four appointed members from the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM).

Committee Charge

The NCTM/SIAM Joint Committee on Modeling Across the Curriculum is charged to: 

1. Provide national leadership for the inclusion of modeling with mathematics in the K-12 mathematics curriculum, including professional learning for preservice and inservice teachers.
2. Promote awareness among teachers and the public about current applications of mathematics.
                                                           
   This committee will meet three times in each of the first two years, then twice a year thereafter.
