Nat Banting is a classroom mathematics teacher and university lecturer from Saskatoon, Canada who blogs about teaching math at natbanting.com/blog, tweets as @NatBanting, and curates the online resource fractiontalks.com. He was named the winner of the 2019 Rosenthal Prize for Innovation and Inspiration in Math Teaching awarded by the National Museum of Mathematics, and he received the Field Institute’s 2019 Margaret Sinclair Memorial Award recognizing innovation and excellence across Canadian mathematics education. More recently, his work across mathematics education earned him a 2021 Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence in STEM.

Diana Ceja is an administrator with the Riverside County Office of Education specializing in TK-12 curriculum, instruction, formative assessment and leadership with an emphasis in mathematics and equity.   She has been president of the California Mathematics Council – South Section and is the immediate past president of TODOS: Mathematics for All, an international mathematics education and equity–based professional math education organization. 

Kevin has been an 8th grade math teacher in southwest Michigan for over 25 years.  Kevin is the co-author of Productive Math Struggle. He also conducts many professional development sessions throughout the United States on the use of manipulatives in the math classroom to develop a conceptual understanding of the math.  Kevin served on the Board of Directors for NCTM from 2016-2019 and is currently President-Elect for this school year before becoming President in October 2022.  

He was awarded the Michigan Council of Teachers of Mathematics Regional Director's Award in 2007 for outstanding contribution and leadership in mathematics education as well as the Service Award in 2014 and has served as a regional director for the organization.  He was the annual conference chair for the organization from 2011-2016 as well as co-founded and co-chaired since 2015 for a conference focused on mathematics for students with disabilities.  Kevin was a 2017 state finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.  He received an Alumni Achievement Award from Western Michigan University in 2019.

Adrienne Baytops Paul has been an educator for over 20 years. She’s passionate about supporting student perseverance and ability and strengthening teacher confidence, capability, and content knowledge in K-8 mathematics. She is currently a Mathematics Specialist for UnboundEd, where she develops professional development content designed to dismantle inequitable instructional practices in the classroom. She is also a math education consultant with the firm My Mathematical Mind. Last year as a 7th grade teacher, she worked with a team to successfully de-track pre-algebra at a traditional all-boys school in Washington, D.C. She has presented in the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics Annual Conference, FCTM, PCTM, the Cognitively Guided Instruction Conference, the Singapore Mathematics Summer Institute, and other conferences. She has written articles about mathematics best practices and equity that have been published in the Journal of Science and Mathematics and on Edutopia.com. She holds a master of education degree in Mathematics Educational Leadership (K–8) from George Mason University, and English degrees from the University of Chicago and Columbia University

As an undocumented Ecuadorian immigrant, Ana aspired to be a woman in the field of mathematics and received her Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematics & Education. Now as a DACA-mented educator, she works to provide students with a safe, equitable and multicultural mathematics education. Ana’s dedication to inspiring students into the field of Mathematics and Science has led her to work with organizations that share her vision. 

Crystal M. Watson, Ed.M is an innovative, passionate mathematics educator and lifelong learner who you can count on to always ask “What do the students think?” Her work is centered around providing space for student voice and identity development in order for everyone, particularly those from diverse backgrounds, to experience high-quality, deep, and personal mathematics. Crystal is dedicated to continuing her own development while continuing to center her work with the student experience in mind. She is most excited about the connections and relationships she builds while engaging in transformational work!

Dr. Wills is an Assistant Professor at George Mason University and author of Teaching Math at a Distance.  She works with math specialists to transform best practices in mathematics to the remote classroom.
