What More is there to Know about the Equal Sign?

Although the equal sign is a very common sight in the math classroom, teachers may not know students have a different meaning for it than they do! In this interactive session we will dig into these different meanings of the equal sign by examining student work, exploring the impact of these different meanings on student algebra success, and engaging with tasks that may help students develop a productive understanding of the equal sign.
