The Little Teacher Who Said, "I Can, I Can, I Can…I Can be the Catalyst to Help My Students Make the Connections!...I Can I Can I Can!
I will expand my personal and professional education, use new strategies to connect middle school standards more effectively, and help teachers increase their instructional effectiveness by enrolling at our local university, and sharing what I learn with colleagues. Together, we will develop resource kit to guide instruction: teacher handbook, video of students actively learning, activities, and examples of students' work. I will create five new lessons for each course I am enrolled in, and will share these. I will declare this project a success when 50% of my students move up a level from "Warning to Needs Improvement: or from "Needs Improvement to Proficient or Advanced." Continuing my education will help me reach students who have fallen through the cracks. Awarding this MET grant will personally help me develop my teaching skills further and will help me teach each child rather than each concept.
