Getting to the Core of Meaningful Mathematics Instruction
The proposal, Getting to Core of Meaningful Mathematics Instruction, seeks to improve math proficiency and understanding across Pre-K-6 grade levels and student demographics, through advance Mathematics Study and Active Professionalism. After successful completion of a Masters in Mathematics (Grade K-5) degree and participation in NCTM conferences, the teacher will be equipped and empowered to effectively implement Common Core Math standards, balance math achievement gaps among diverse student populations, and completely share best practices expertise in meaningful mathematics instructional strategies with professional learning communities and colleagues. Successful accomplishment of this proposal will be observed though greater achievement and competence in mathematics from students and enhanced instructional delivery and depth of mathematical understanding in the teacher.
