What I Learn Directly Benefits my Students

Knowing that I need additional professional development and collaboration among math educators, I am applying for the future leader initial NCTM annual conference attendance award. This award will help fill gaps in my knowledge of the common core standards, technology, and differentiated instruction. I understand that the more knowledge I have about these topics, the better able I am to assist and push students to their full capabilities. Lessons will be revamped and modified to incorporate new knowledge and uses of technology to enhance the learning process. This award will not only benefit me and my students but the entire math department and student body. Our students need better ways to improve knowledge and understanding of math concepts which will then be applied to state testing so that we will no longer be on the warning list.
