Mathematics with an Equity Lens
As teachers of our youngest learners, I believe that we have an obligation to instill a love of learning where our students are engaged, confident and willing to take challenges. My current classroom of 14 students, representing 7 different cultures is a truly unique and exciting place to both teach and learn. Recent equity work has given me a new lens with which to view my practices and students. I am interested in exploring the area of mindset and higher level questioning techniques and the role they play in student learning, especially as it applies to minority students. I look forward to the opportunity to grow professionally and collaborate with colleagues from around the country.
