Developing Mathematical Ideas (DMI) is a professional development curriculum with seven parts (modules). It is designed to be accessed anywhere with an Internet connection and browser access on a computer or tablet. Each module is sold separately.

Each module consists of a casebook and an online facilitator’s guide that includes videos. The casebook is sold separately in print and eBook versions. The online facilitator’s guide includes everything the seminar facilitator needs, including access to the casebook content, to prepare for and to lead a seminar.

Each seminar consists of eight three-hour sessions. The main content of the online facilitator’s guide is organized by sessions; preseminar preparation for the facilitator is also included in each module.

To prepare for a session, the facilitator clicks on Seminar Preparation under the session number. The Facilitator Checklist contains links to all the readings, videos, and other downloadable materials for the session.

While leading a session, the facilitator may click on In-Class Agenda and Video to access a continuous, scrollable version of the agenda for personal reference during the session. If a video element is part of the session, the video is embedded in this version of the agenda for seamless access during the class.

The Detailed Agenda for each session is also available as an MS Word–formatted document that can be downloaded and annotated by the facilitator for their personal reference.
