Diane Thiessen is a
professor emeritus in the mathematics department at the University of Northern
Iowa. She is the co-editor and co-author of several books in mathematics
education, including The Wonderful World
of Mathematics: A Critically Annotated List of Children’s Books in Mathematics
(NCTM 1998). She was the editor and author of the book Exploring Math through Literature: Articles and Lessons for
Prekindergarten through Grade 8 (NCTM 2004), an earlier collection of
articles from NCTM journals with teacher notes and activity sheets.
