Mathematics Teacher’s November/December 2018 Focus Issue explores “Tool

an expert teacher is not about learning tricks or mastering classroom
management. It is not even about making mathematics fun. Becoming an expert
teacher is a lifelong process during which we learn more mathematics; we learn
more about how and what students think; and, more important, we learn to listen
to others and learn from others—our students, our colleagues, other teachers.
