NCTM Digital Shift

  • NCTM Digital Shift

When the COVID-19 pandemic started, we were all forced to rapidly adapt to ever-changing situations, with a specific focus on all things digital. To continue meeting the needs of our mathematics educators during those challenging times, NCTM made adaptations to our membership and program offerings.

As we begin to see a return to pre-pandemic education operations, NCTM believes it is important to continue offering a variety of digital programming, publications and resources to our membership. Our digital journal formats offer thought-provoking articles, industry-leading research, and easy-to-implement classroom strategies that are easily accessible through pubs.nctm.org and offer searchable content databases by grade band and topic area.

    NCTM Journals are Digital-First

The  Journal for Research in Mathematics Education  (JRME) is shifting to a digital-only format beginning with Volume 53, Issue 1, January 2022. This transition to a digital-only research journal aligns with many of NCTM's newest initiatives that are meeting educators' ever-evolving needs.

    Digital-only benefits include:

    • Online access to the latest peer-reviewed articles
    • Fully searchable content across all volume issues, including specific authors and content areas
    • Comprehensive citation index to access additional resources and references
    • Accessible articles available as full inline PDFs to download and save
    • One-click citation export tool for referencing JRME articles

We'll automatically transition all JRME subscriptions to digital-only beginning January 2022. No additional action is required on your part.  Access JRME on pubs.nctm.org.
