Capitol Hill Visits

  • Speak Up for Math Teachers!

Sign up to take part in visits to congressional offices on Capitol Hill on Wednesday, April 25 to build relationships and let our legislators know the positive impact their work can have on students, teachers, and families in their district and across the country. The last day to register is March 19.

NCTM will be organizing and supporting teams of teachers, leaders, and teacher educators/researchers to participate in visits to congressional offices in Washington, D.C. These provide opportunities to initiate a relationship, share the impact of the work you do, and provide feedback on the impact of future decisions on students, teachers and schools they represent.

NCTM will provide online training and materials prior to the event and will also begin the day with a refresher before heading to the Hill for visits. NCTM will also help support your on-going relationship building with representatives and senators and work to build a larger network of teachers, leaders, and teacher educators/researchers engage in communication and advocacy for teachers and mathematics teaching and learning.
