Integrating Math across the K–6 Curriculum is an online teacher resource filled with lesson plans and
activity sheets linked to articles from NCTM’s journals Teaching Children Mathematics and Mathematics Teaching in the Middle School and to sections from our series
of Navigations books. This online product provides K–6 teachers with dozens of mathematics
lessons that are related to topics their students are studying in science (such
as biology, health, technology, and space), social studies (such as history,
civics, and geography), and the arts (such as music, art, and design).
The resource
includes more than 75 downloadable journal articles and 30 selections from our
Navigations books. Each has one or more accompanying lesson plan (more than 100
lessons in all), and most include printable activity sheets for classroom use. The
articles and lessons are divided thirteen different topics, from Life Science,
to Economics and Personal Finance, to Painting and Drawing, and more. The lessons
include learning objectives, connections to the Common Core and mathematical
practices, and instructional plans.
