Dr. Naomi Jessup is a mathematics teacher educator in the Early Childhood Elementary Education Department at Georgia State University. She teaches mathematics content and methods courses for prospective teachers in the elementary education bachelor’s degree program and doctoral courses on critical issues in education. Her research focuses on examining mathematics teaching practices (i.e., teacher noticing, classroom discourse) with prospective and in-service teachers, curriculum, and parental partnerships from critical perspectives. Additionally, her research focuses on reengineering mathematics education spaces in the midst of and post the COVID-19 pandemic that is rehumanizing, and honors the voices, knowledge, and contributions of historically marginalized students, parents, and their communities.
