    How do I tell the world what is going on in Orlando?

    You can join the conversation through Twitter (hashtag #NCTMRegionals), Instagram, Faceboook, Pinterest, and Linkedin. You can also link the NCTM conference app to your social media pages.


    Does NCTM offer a conference introduction?

    Yes. NCTM’s Regional Conference Overview & Orientation on Thursday and Friday, 7:15 a.m. – 7:45 a.m., in room W203 (Orange County Convention Center) provides activities and information about the conference format and how to make the most of your time in Orlando.


    Does NCTM have something just for new teachers?

    Yes. NCTM presents a New and Preservice Teachers Workshop on Thursday and Friday, 9:45 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.


    Does NCTM offer a conference discount on books?

    Yes. All conference attendees receive a 25% discount on most purchases.


    What books will be available at the bookstore?

    NCTM offers a wide variety of books and other special products in the bookstore. We will have many long-time favorites, such as the Essential Understanding Series, Principles to Action: Ensuring Mathematics Success for All, and Success from the Start: Your First Years Teaching Elementary Mathematics. We also will have many new books, like Taking Action: Implementing Effective Mathematics Teaching Practices in Grades 9-12 .


    Are purchases in the bookstore tax-free?

    Maybe. NCTM must charge Florida sales tax on all purchases. However, any Florida school district and individuals from Florida schools paying with a school credit or P-card who presents a Florida tax exempt certificate at the time of sale will not be charged tax. These certificates will be retained by the NCTM Bookstore. No out-of-state tax exemptions will be accepted.


    Can I join NCTM or renew my membership at the conference?

    Yes. Stop by the member services booth in NCTM Central to renew your membership or join for the first time and be placed into a drawing for a $25.00 NCTM gift certificate. Also, pick up activities, lessons, and sample journals at member services that you can use back in the classroom.


    Where do I find information about grants and scholarships?

    Visit the Mathematics Education Trust booth in NCTM Central and learn how to apply for the many MET grants, scholarships, and awards that are available to NCTM members. MET channels the generosity of contributors through the creation and funding of grants, awards, honors, and other projects that support the improvement of mathematics teaching and learning.


    Is there a place for informal gatherings and discussion?

    Yes, the NCTM Networking Lounge is a prime location to meet up with new and existing colleagues between presentations! In addition, many small and informal sessions are located in the Networking Lounge. Download the conference app to receive alerts for scheduled networking meetups!
