The articles in this special issue discuss "building a math village,” that is, creating an educational space where we work together to improve students' mathematical learning. The articles include exemplary implemented models and activities for partnering between school and home and between school and community. These models and activities include challenging issues that are wrestled with in practice, as well as findings from research.
