Finite Disappointment, Infinite Hope

The work of equity in math education is based on a belief in the dignity of every human being. But practice often does not align with ideals. How do we move ourselves from inaction to action? How do we encourage self-reflection, not self-righteousness? And, as MLK Jr might ask, how can we continue this work when our highest hopes are not fulfilled?
