Elena Contreras Gullickson is a Ph.D. candidate in STEM Education with a focus on mathematics. She taught high school mathematics in St. Paul for 10 years and spent two years teaching middle and high school mathematics in Tanzania, East Africa. Her research interests are in student identity and the ways student identity interacts with participation at school and within communities.
