Accessibility and Inclusion

NCTM supports a safe and respectful environment that is focused on building a better community during your conference experience. 

ADA General Information

NCTM is committed to ensuring that our events are fully accessible to all persons. The Baltimore Convention Center provides access for individuals with disabilities in the following ways:

  • Sidewalk curb cuts provide easy access for wheelchair users to main lobby areas.
  • Wheelchair ramps are located in the Charles Street Lobby.
  • Thresholds are level with floor at entrance doors. 
  • The Baltimore Convention Center offers several meeting rooms with audio enhancements. Please inquire with [email protected] by November 16 if you need assistance.
  • Exterior automatic sliding doors are located at each public lobby entrance: Pratt Street, Sharp Street, Charles Street, and the Mezzanine Level, Main Terrace
  • Emergency systems provide emergency notice for the visually and hearing impaired
  • Amplified telephone handsets are located in each of the permanent public telephone banks located throughout the center
  • TDD and TDY-equipped telephones are located throughout the public areas of the facility
  • Telephones in each telephone bank are installed at a height that accommodates persons in wheelchairs
  • Elevators are located near escalators on each level, and are equipped with Braille indicators, chimes, and raised lettering, providing mobility for visually impaired as well as mobility impaired guests. In addition, meeting room signs have additional Braille text.
  • All restrooms are accessible for standard wheelchairs
  • All elevator cabs provide information on the location of the phone and instructions on using the instruments.
  • Visual line indicators (flashers) and amplified handsets are available to exhibitors and show management through the Center’s Telecommunications Department.

ADA Sign Language Interpreters

The General Session will be equipped with ASL Interpreters. Additional sign language needs for sessions are available for all conference attendees upon request through the registration process. The request deadline is November 16. 

ADA Wheelchairs/Mobile Scooters

Manual and Mobilized Scooters are available for a per-day fee through ScooterPlus Rentals Inc. To reserve your wheelchair now, please call ScooterPlus at 1-866-474-4356. Rentals can be dropped off at your hotel or the convention center. Please coordinate directly with the agency.

All Gender Restrooms 

All gender restrooms are located throughout the Baltimore Convention Center, specifically across from Market Fresh, the Pratt Street lobby, the Howard Street lobby, and on the 400 level. Restrooms indicated with a red asterisk on our floor plan are converted bathrooms.
