Classroom Conversations: Problems to Ponder (Open to All)
Presented by
Mark Kreie
Each month, NCTM features 28 varying, classroom-ready Problems to Ponder in their Mathematics Teacher: Learning and Teaching PK–12 journal. These problems challenge students across all grade bands to engage in reasoning and sense making. Join Mark Kreie as he highlights different ways Problems to Ponder can be used in the classroom.
Developing mathematical reasoning skills allows students to apply mathematical thinking in creative and meaningful ways. The ability to reason and justify your reasoning are critical skills to becoming a life-long problem solver. In this webinar, we will share specific strategies and approaches teachers can use in the classroom to cultivate each student’s mathematical reasoning skills.
