Angela Torres was a secondary Math Content Specialist for San Francisco Unified School District for nine years. Angela was a part of the team that moved the district towards a detracked secondary course pathway and she supported sites to teach heterogeneous classrooms, mostly focusing on high school support. She also managed the SF Complex Instruction Program, which included a wide range of site teams in SFUSD K–12 to consider a deeper dive of how status can impact participation in the classroom. At the end of 2020–2021, Angela has relocated to San Diego and currently works for the UC San Diego Mathematics Project where she supports site teams with math instruction through site specific support, lesson study, and teacher leadership.
