Rediscovering Joy in Teaching and Learning Mathematics

About The Event

To bring joy into our mathematics teaching and learning, students’ curiosities need to be at the center of our classroom instruction.

The NCTM 2024 Virtual Conference aims to promote ways in which teachers can empower their students through prioritization of student-centered instruction that encapsulates the wonder and joy students experience in learning mathematics.

Our exciting online platform will provide many opportunities for learning, networking, and growing both professionally and personally.

Accessibility and Inclusion

NCTM supports a safe and respectful environment focused on building a better community during your conference experience. We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to engage fully.

NCTM includes the following in the conference planning process:

  • The Opening and Closing Sessions will have live ASL interpretation.
  • NCTM contracts with ASL services to ensure individual attendee accommodations are met during the conference.
  • Closed captions will be enabled for all sessions.
  • All visual information presented during the keynote and sessions will be communicated verbally. We have asked speakers to verbally communicate what is presented on their slides.
  • NCTM’s Event Code of Conduct outlines expectations for all attendees, speakers, sponsors, service providers, and volunteers (collectively, “participants”) at NCTM virtual and in-person events.

If you have an accommodation request not listed here, or would like to confirm a previous accommodation request, please email [email protected].
