NCTM supports a safe and respectful environment focused on building a better community during your conference experience. We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to engage fully.
NCTM includes the following in the conference planning process:
- The Opening, Closing, and Iris Carl Equity Session will have live ASL interpretation with reserved seating in the front of the session room.
- NCTM contracts with ASL agencies to secure Interpreters for onsite services. NCTM actively seeks to meet the needs of all accommodations during presentations.
- NCTM requires speakers to use microphones in all sessions.
- NCTM works with onsite audio-visual technicians to ensure speakers enable captioning on presentations.
- NCTM provides a quiet room for attendees during the conference. A quiet room is a space where you can experience complete tranquility. By blocking out all external noise and distractions, a quiet room allows you to relax and recharge while onsite.
- For the visually impaired, a printed copy of the program is available upon request.
- All visual information presented during the keynote and sessions is verbally communicated. Speakers will verbally communicate what they present on their slides.
- If you are attending with a colleague who will be providing sighted assistance navigating the conference spaces, please contact [email protected].
- NCTM works with local businesses to provide scooter rental information to ensure your onsite mobility needs can be accommodated.
- NCTM partners with a transportation service to provide ADA shuttles to and from the hotel and convention center throughout the conference.
- Attendees have access to a lactation room.
- There are gender-neutral restrooms located throughout the event space.
- NCTM’s
Event Code of Conduct outlines expectations for all attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, service providers, and volunteers (collectively, “participants”) at NCTM virtual and in-person events.
