Robert Q. Berry III Ph.D. is the Samuel Braley Gray Professor of Mathematics Education and the Associate Dean of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the School of Education and Human Development at the University of Virginia and the immediate Past President of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). Berry co-edited the 2020 book High School Mathematics Lessons to Explore, Understand, and Respond to Social Injustice which focuses on teaching mathematics for social justice. He has published over 100 articles, book chapters, and proceedings; and has given over 200 presentations. His articles have appeared in the Journal for Research in Mathematics Education, Journal of Teacher Education, Educational Studies in Mathematics, and the American Educational Research Journal. Berry is a two-time recipient of NCTM's Linking Research and Practice Publication Award and received the University of Virginia's All-University Teaching Award in 2011.

Robert Berry received his Bachelor of Science degree from Old Dominion University, his master's degree from Christopher Newport University, and holds a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Christopher Danielson enjoys playing with math. He has worked with math learners of all ages—12 year-olds in his former middle school classroom, Calculus students, teachers, and children of all ages and their parents and caregivers at Math On-A-Stick at the Minnesota State Fair. He writes curriculum at Desmos, and books for Stenhouse. He blogs at Talking Math with Your Kids and Overthinking My Teaching. His favorite vehicle is his trusty cargo bike.

Dr. Mike Flynn is the director of Mathematics Leadership Programs at Mount Holyoke College. While his main focus is on supporting teachers, coaches, and administrators in mathematics, he has also become one of the world’s leading experts on remote and hybrid learning. He developed the first dynamic hybrid learning model back in 2013 while collaborating with a new startup company called Zoom. He has been perfecting remote and hybrid teaching ever since and educators that have been in his Master of Arts in Teaching Mathematics program will attest that it has been the best online learning they have experienced. Mike is now using his expertise to support teachers and school districts as they navigate the challenges of remote learning during the pandemic. His webinars, articles, and video tutorials on his YouTube channel are free and widely available to help the education community.

Prior to this work Mike taught second grade at the William E. Norris Elementary School in Southampton, MA for 14 years. He was named the Massachusetts Teacher of the Year in 2008 and was a 2010 recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching.

Linda Fulmore is the current President of TODOS: Mathematics For ALL.  She has led the organization to increased visibility, professional learning development and membership during her tenure.  She is a nationally known advocate for equity, excellence, and high-quality mathematics education for all children. Her work on numerous boards in the Phoenix metropolitan area champions causes for children and families. Linda was a secondary mathematics educator and administrator, was honored to receive the 2018 Arizona Golden Apple Award for Leadership in Mathematics Education and the 2019 NCSM Kay Gilliland Equity Leadership Award.

Dr. Lateefah Id-Deen is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics Education in the Department of Elementary & Early Childhood Education at the Kennesaw State University. She earned her doctorate in Curriculum, Instruction, and Teacher Education at Michigan State University, with foci in Mathematics Education and Urban Education. She has written several articles and book chapters that examine historically marginalized students’ perspectives on their experiences in mathematics classrooms and ways to support educators in hearing and developing practice in relation to students’ expressed interests. Additionally, she is a co-editor of two upcoming books that discuss ways teachers can navigate social injustices in mathematics classrooms. Generally, her work investigates culturally responsive instructional practices that promote student-teacher relationships, affirm mathematics identities, and cultivate belongingness to support students’ learning experiences in mathematics classrooms. Geoff Krall is an experienced educator, author, professional developer, and mathematician. He is a PhD student and teacher at University of Wyoming for Math Education and lives in Fort Collins with his wife, two kids, three cats, and four chickens. His book, Necessary Conditions is available from Stenhouse Publishers.

Dr. Calvin Mackie is an award-winning mentor, inventor, author, former engineering professor, internationally renowned speaker, and successful entrepreneur. In 2013, Dr. Mackie founded STEM NOLA, a non-profit organization created to expose, inspire, and engage communities in the opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). To date, STEM NOLA has engaged over 65,000 K-12 students in hands-on project-based STEM activities. In 2021, he launched STEM Global Action to advance K-12 Stem education across the U.S. and the world.  

A lifelong resident of New Orleans, Dr. Mackie graduated from high school with low test scores requiring him to take special remedial classes at Morehouse College. In 1990, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Morehouse College with a B.S. degree, as a member of the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society. Simultaneously, he was awarded a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech, where he subsequently earned his master’s and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in 1996.

While pursuing a doctorate degree, Dr. Mackie served as an instructor of mathematics at Morehouse College. Following graduation, he joined the faculty at Tulane University, where he pursued research related to heat transfer, fluid dynamics, energy efficiency, and renewable energy. In 2002, he was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure. Mackie’s eleven-year academic career ended in June 2007, when Tulane University disbanded the engineering school in response to financial hardship induced by Hurricane Katrina. During 2004-2005 academic year, Mackie served as a visiting professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Michigan. He enjoyed a respected academic career, before pivoting his career towards entrepreneurship, consulting, and professional speaking.

Mackie is also the President and CEO of the Channel ZerO Group LLC, an educational and professional development consulting company he co-founded in 1992. He has presented to numerous civic and educational institutions, government entities, professional association, and businesses of every size and industrial focus.  

He has won numerous awards including 2019 Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Board’s Chair Phoenix Award, which recognizes individuals whose extraordinary achievements strengthen communities and improve the lives of individuals and families, nationally and globally. In 2003, he was awarded the 2003 Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring in a White House ceremony. 

Dr. Mackie’s is the author of two award-winning books: A View from the Roof: Lessons for Life and Business and Grandma's Hands: Cherished Moments of Faith and Wisdom. 

Dr. Mackie is a devoted husband to his wife, Tracy, and father to his two sons, Myles Ahmad and Mason Amir.

Trena Wilkerson is a mathematics education professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the School of Education at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She taught high school mathematics for 18 years. She is the current NCTM President and has published in several of NCTM’s journals, Mathematics Teaching in the Middle School, Mathematics Teacher, Teaching Children Mathematics, and Journal of Research in Mathematics Education, chaired the MTMS Editorial Panel and served on the NCTM Board of Directors. She loves teaching and learning mathematics in support of current and future mathematics teachers and leaders!
