Specifically, we will focus on negative integers as a magnificent place for supporting imagination. What types of problems support students in inventing their own notations and strategies for making sense of negative integers? How do students invent negative integers and extend their number systems? We will explore students' thinking about integers and how they imagined negative integers and operations.
