Accessibility and Inclusion

Accessibility-Inclusion

NCTM encourages a safe and respectful environment that is focused on building a better community during your conference experience. We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to fully engage.

NCTM includes the following requirements in the conference planning process:

  • The Opening Session will have live ASL interpretation.

  • NCTM contracts with ASL services to ensure individual attendee accommodations are met during presentations.

  • Speakers will use microphones for all sessions.

  • For visually impaired, a printed copy of the program book will be available upon request.

  • All visual information presented on slides during the keynote and sessions will be verbally communicated by the speakers.

  • If you are attending with a colleague who will be providing sighted assistance to you during the conference, please contact [email protected]

  • NCTM works with local businesses to provide scooters for onsite mobility needs.

  • Attendees will have access to a lactation room, which is located in Room #416.

  • There will be gender-neutral restrooms located throughout the event space.

  • NCTM’s Event Code of Conduct outlines expectations for all attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, service providers, and volunteers (collectively, “participants”) at NCTM virtual and in-person events.

Conference Resources

Mobile App

In our effort to keep our conferences “paper-light,” the NCTM Central app keeps you connected with every aspect of the Regional Conference. The free app allows you to search sessions, speakers, and exhibits; view the Exhibit Hall floor plan; highlight your favorite presentations; rate presentations; and interact with your colleagues! Visit: nctm.org/confapp to download the app.

Program Book

Since this is a "paper-light" event, the program book will be fully digital and there will be limited onsite handouts. Materials for education sessions and programming, including a daily schedule, will be available on the NCTM website for download in advance of the event. A fully searchable program is also available online and on the mobile app.

Online Planner

Begin building your itinerary by using our online planner. Stay updated on cancellations for your scheduled sessions, workshops, and bursts. Also keep track of your personal activities during the conference by using the online planner. Visit: Conference App - National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (nctm.org)
