  • Let's Celebrate!

Every year at the NCTM Annual Meeting & Exposition, MET celebrates and recognizes the achievements and contributions of colleagues, mentors, and friends. There is much to celebrate—the NCTM Lifetime Achievement awardees, all the past Lifetime Achievement Award recipients for their distinguished service to mathematics education; and the generosity of all MET donors, especially honorees who have named MET funds and whose gifts to MET continue to provide great opportunities for professional growth and leadership developments.

In 2013 MET presented its first MET Celebration and Silent Auction—a sold out event. In 2014 NCTM published the first MET cookbook, Recipes You Can Count On, featuring recipes from notable mathematics educators. In 2015, MET commissioned and sold, through an online auction, an original water color painting called Math Magic. In 2016 and 2017, MET hosted a wine tasting and Celebración Reception, respectively.

    The MET Celebration Party!
It’s not just a celebration—it’s a celebration party! We would like to invite you to join us on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m., at the MET Celebration Party, at the Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington, D.C. Toast the 2018 NCTM Lifetime Achievement Award recipients with our signature celebration drink, the Cherry Blos∑! Celebrate the start of an exciting conference with fellow math enthusiasts and friends. Listen to a talented group of student jazz musicians who have previously performed at the White House, the Kennedy Center, and the National Mall among other impressive venues and for equally impressive audiences. Light refreshments will be served. Three lucky people will have a chance to win a bundle of MET products in a drawing (retails at $195). And one extra lucky person will receive a bundle of MET products plus a special basket of items and goodies! Tickets are $50, limited, and nonrefundable.
