The 2006 Winter Olympic Games (1)

The 2006 winter Olympic Games will be held in Turin, Italy, from February 10–26. Originally, the winter and summer Olympics were held in the same calendar year, but since 1992, these games have been held in different years. The winter Olympic Games have been held every four years since 1924, except when they were suspended from 1936 to 1948 and when they were held only two years apart, in 1992 and 1994. That was when the Olympic Committee began staggering the games' schedule.
