May 2006, Volume 99, Issue 9, Page 637

Abstract:
An activity that introduces students to parametric equations through the motions of bugs. The focus is on teaching students to use a graphing calculator to create and graph parametric equations. Includes worksheets.

Activities are hands-on, open-ended activities that encourage problem solving, reasoning, communication, and mathematical connections. Activities is a regular feature of Mathematics Teacher and highlights activities that develop conceptual understanding of mathematics topics.
