Abstract:
The clips this month focus on using probability to predict the price of oil and possible formulas related to Murphy's Law. The aim of Media Clips is to provide opportunities to students to analyze items from the media, such as advertisements and newspaper articles, to answer mathematical questions related to the article. The section includes short items from the media that highlight interesting uses or misuses of mathematics that are appropriate for classroom study. Media Clips is a regular department of Mathematics Teacher.         Students analyze something from the media to answer mathematical questions related to the article.
