Technology Tips: Orstat–2000: Educational Software for Probability and Optimization

This issue’s Technology Tips introduces Orstat-2000, a recently released software for problems found in discrete mathematics. Author uses freely available software to simulate random experiments and to explore the traveling salesman problem. The Surfing Note introduces teachers to the National Curve Bank, a website with interactive applets featuring many curves and providing users with algebraic and geometrical representations of the curves. Technology Tips focus on how technology can aid teachers in in using technology to enhance instruction, assessment, and the curriculum to help their students deepen conceptual knowledge.
