The Thinking of Students: The Car Wash

Katherine Weeden

January 2005, Volume 10, Issue 5, Page 252

Abstract:

We focus on student solutions to "The Car Wash" problem from a "Food for Thought from Jay's Diner" problem. The Thinking of Students shares the thinking of middle school students as they explore and communicate mathematics. It highlights students' work, including projects, investigations, or creative solutions to the problems in the monthly menu. The department is a forum for sharing students' discoveries, thoughts, problem solutions, or even challenges. The Thinking of Students is a regular department of Mathematics Teaching in the Middle School.
